Don't get me wrong I love a fitted maxi dress but sometimes I like a more relaxed loose fit that is still cute and trendy. In my opinion the fitted maxi dresses allows the body form in the dress to speak for itself, while with a relaxed maxi dress the embellishments or details make up for the loose fit and add to the dress.
With a relaxed maxi you don't want the material to be too heavy and uncomfortable, a loose fit and breathable fabric is key.
