Women (Not) Supporting Women

So the other day I was scrolling through IG and came across this post on Sarah Silverman and how when she went to get her mammogram ultrasound, her male doctor did not wear gloves while putting on gel onto her breasts. I immediately was like damn that is crazy, because a while ago I had just seen on a news station that when giving vaginal exams or any exam doctors are required to wear gloves. She knew that as well and immediately started questioning him (you can check out her post here) about what he was doing. She was informing women to speak up if something does not seem right!

Since when did fashion dictate what should happen to you? What does ones fashion have to do with being disrespected, molested, raped, etc.

So following this I saw some of the comments where women were saying that she has her breasts exposed (in the picture above) yet shes mad that someone felt her up. Others saying well her dress exposed her breasts here so maybe she was asking for it or you have no problem letting your tits hang out of your clothes and the list goes on. In my mind I'm like WTH! Since when did fashion dictate what should happen to you? What does ones fashion have to do with being disrespected, molested, raped, etc. Again, these were all women saying things like this! Why just not have her back?

Other women stated how they had mammograms and doctors are definitely suppose to be wearing gloves. So if this is a fact...then why are we shaming Sarah. I commented as well and stated, "The women saying 'yet she dresses like this'  I really hope you don't have daughters to raise. Cause God forbid something happens to them and the first thing you'll say is 'what were you wearing"

Support your fellow women. Stop victim shaming. Just STOP! I see it all the time where a young lady is molested or raped and the first thing WOMEN say is, "well what did she expect dressing like that". Seriously, that's the best response you can come up with. We do these women's marches and ask the government to respect women and to respect our choices, yet, women don't even respect other women and their choice of something as small as what she is wearing.

Do better, be better, especially if you are raising little girls. They see everything and if they see how you respond to other women, they're not going to want to come to you if something happens to them. We as women know how it is being a women! So be there for each other as oppose to bring them down. xoxo
